What’s in a cup of coffee? Here’s the lowdown on our TBB blend.
Our TBB Blend is a medium-roasted, 2-bean espresso blend, comprising of beans from Brazil and Colombia (Brazil Samambaia, Colombia Risaralda). The flavour profile consists of dark chocolate, roasted nuts, balanced with a cherry acidity and a buttery mouthfeel.
We chose between two Brazil beans for the base flavours and three beans (2 Colombia, 1 Guatemala) for the acidity profiling. Beans with a stonefruit profile was selected to give the coffee complexity. To achieve the buttery mouthfeel was simply a matter of ratio (Brazil to Colombia), and we ended up with 60% Brazil, 40% Colombia.
We formulated this new iteration of the TBB Blend back in 2019, with a focus on creating a blend that had sufficient strength, had good mass appeal, while remaining complex in flavour due to a touch of acidity.
