Tiong Bahru Bakery sourdough workshops

Here’s your chance to learn how to make sourdough bread from Tiong Bahru Bakery’s sourdough baker, Chef Paul! On top of our regular beginner and intermediate sourdough baking workshops, we also have Sourdough Pizza + Degustation workshop, where you get to create your own sourdough pizza and enjoy your own creations with wine/juice at the workshop.

Tiong Bahru Bakery makes some of the BEST sourdough on the island. No joke. Our beloved sourdough starter (or levain) turned 163 this year. With every passing year, it’s flavour and crumb just gets better, aging like a fine wine!

From lovingly sourced ingredients from France to our baker’s expert kneading, we make sure that what you put on your table is nothing but the best. Because of the starter’s old age, it adds a richer, more complex taste and results in a better crumb.

Our Sourdough loaves are naturally fermented and allowed to proof slowly over 16hrs to develop that distinctive flavour and golden crust.

Whether toasted with butter and jam or as the scaffolding to a killer grilled cheese sandwich, our Sourdough is a classic for a reason.

If you’re bringing one of our loaves home, don’t forget to reheat it in a 180ºC oven for 5-8 minutes and wait for 10 minutes to cool before slicing. Add a slab of Bordier butter for that extra flavourful, crispy bite!
