What is Tiong Bahru Bakery?

Tiong Bahru Bakery is a French bakery and cafe chain originating from Singapore and famous for its handmade croissants. The bakery was named after the Tiong Bahru area, a historic neighbourhood of the city state, where its first Eng Hoon Street cafe was launched. Today, the brand has over 21 cafe outlets scattered across Singapore with a menu of sweet and savoury bread, pastries and beverages.

Each Tiong Bahru Bakery outlet features custom designed interiors, intended to reflect the neighbourhood each bakery is located.

The price of our famous Tiong Bahru Bakery handmade croissant, made from 100% French flour and butter, and baked fresh every 2 hours is SGD4.20 + GST (Total SGD 4.58)

If you’re dining in a 10% service charge is also added to your total bill and if you order online you will notice the prices are little higher.


What to order at Tiong Bahru Bakery?

Yes, our signature croissants and kouign amann are a must-try but Tiong Bahru Bakery has such a wide array of quality menu items that should not be overlooked. Any of our viennoiserie (breakfast pastries) will not disappoint.

If it’s something savoury and more substantial you’re craving, then there’s a wide range of croissant and bread sandwiches, pies and quiches to try. For cake and dessert lovers, the pastries look great and taste even better. Of course being a bakery our fresh baked breads, baguettes, brioche, sourdough and focaccia are great take home treats.

And not forgetting drinks, the Tiong Bahru Bakery coffee is a custom fresh roast by Common Man Coffee Roasters, or choose from a wide range of teas and juices.

We’re not halal-certified, but we have plenty of bakes and menu items that don’t include pork, lard or alcohol if you’re still interested in dining with us!

Tiong Bahru Bakery was started in 2012 by French TV celebrity-baker and pastry chef, Gontran Cherrier, together with his Singaporean business partner, Cynthia Chua, of the Spa Esprit Group. The first bakery-cafe was named after the small, colourful neighbourhood where it was set up.

Tiong Bahru Bakery has currently 21 outlets throughout Singapore, each with it’s own unique interior design and atmosphere. All food items are handmade using 100% French butter and flour, baked fresh daily by a team of expert bakers and pastry chefs.

Tiong Bahru Bakery has recently launched it’s first store in the Philippines, located at the Verve Residences Tower 2, Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig, Metro Manila.

Tiong Bahru Bakery is managed by Spa Esprit Group, which is now owned by Singapore based private equity fund Titan Dining, with Jollibee Foods Worldwide being the majority stakeholder of this fund. This new investment will help the strengthen the brand’s presence in the region.

Is Tiong Bahru Bakery dog friendly?

Yes we’re pet friendly. The good news for pet owners and dog lovers is that from 1 January 2025, all Singapore eateries will be able to seat patrons and their pets outdoors without the need for a pet cafe licence.

It’s important to remember that dining out with pets comes with responsibilities. For our cafes that do offer pet friendly al fresco dining, we ask that all pet owners to be considerate of other patrons as not everyone may be comfortable around animals. Please leash dogs at all times, be in control of your pets and ensure they are not allowed to roam free, or sit on seating or tables.

Don’t forget to bring essentials like waste bags to clean up after your pet, pet snacks and water so your pet can be as comfortable and as well fed as you.

Why do some people call Tiong Bahru Bakery TBB?

Does Tiong Bahru Bakery take table reservations?

We don’t take reservations – tables are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please be patient during peak periods and on weekends if we cannot immediately seat your group.
